About this place
One diner who ordered tempura udon remembered the shrimp, nori, shiso and pickled ginger tempura, freshly fried to order with a satisfyingly crisp coating. The noodles, they noted, were soft in the Osaka style. It makes for a comforting bowl, pairing the savoury aroma of fried tempura with tender noodles. Mayumi also offers set meals featuring udon or soba, along with rice bowls. Some, including tendon and oyakodon, come with mini udon—a welcome pairing when you want noodles alongside your rice. For cold noodles, choose udon or soba served zaru-style, with tempura, grated daikon or grated yam.
A diner who stopped in for breakfast described one example of the daily bento: grilled cod marinated in Saikyo miso, simmered taro and fried chicken, among other items. The menu changes from day to day, but the bento is an option when you fancy a set meal instead of noodles or a rice bowl. Breakfast is available, and the restaurant is open from 6:00 to 15:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Those hours work for both an early meal and lunch. Some rice bowls come with miso soup or mini udon, too. Choose tendon or katsudon for a more substantial meal, or zaru noodles or grated-daikon noodles when you want something lighter.
